Bomberman Fantasy Race (ボンバーマン ファンタジーレース bonbāman fantajī rēsu) is a racing video game developed by Hudson Soft for the PlayStation.
Story
Japanese manual:
Japanese manual (English translation):
Bomberman Fantasy Land is suspended in outer space. Bomberman's creator, Dr. Ein, constructed it to be the biggest attraction station in the universe, with the goal of bringing peace to the whole universe. There are all kinds of attractions there, but the biggest event is the "Fantasy Race", held once every 4 years, with stakes of money and prestige. This year is the 10th anniversary celebration... This year, Bomberman received a surprise "Fantasy Race invitation". Seeing the name "Buggler" among the contestants, White and Black Bomber rush out on a trip to Fantasy Land...[4]
U.S. manual:
Bomberman Fantasy Land is the biggest amusement station in the galaxy. It was built by Dr. Ein with the hope that it would bring peace to the Universe; He is also the man who created Bomberman. Of all the events held at the Fantasy Land amusement center, the "Fantasy Race" held every 4 years is the biggest. Racers from all over compete for prizes and fame. Bomberman received an invitation to the 10th Anniversary Race but was reluctant to participate. However, upon finding the name Burglar among the names of the contestants, he now had no choice but to participate.[5]
The story text in the PAL instruction booklet is identical to that of the U.S. booklet.[6]
Characters
Characters in this game are primarily divided into racers and runners.
Racers
Racers are playable characters.[7] The player's chosen racer does not affect game mechanics, but computer-controlled players have different behaviours depending on the racer. When selecting a character, the player may change its name.[5]

Black Bomber |
Pretty Bomber |

Runners
Runners are the characters who the racers ride. Each runner has different statistics.[7] Green Louie and Blue Tirra are both available from the onset of the game, but other runners must be purchased in the Stable. Black Louie and King Tirra will only become available in the Stable when all four of the previous Louies or Tirras, respectively, have been purchased.
Because statistics vary in the international releases, the statistics for Black Louie and King Tirra in the NTSC and PAL editions cannot be sourced from the guidebook, and are thus left unknown.
